About the SuccessDiva

I’m an enigma. I’m an Oxford-educated former actress, book reviewer, fiction writer, and musician. These days, I would describe myself as a scholar, a writer, a philosopher, a poet, a creative spirit, a true and loyal friend to those who take the time to understand me, and a SuccessDiva. I’m a mass of contradictions. . .both an old-fashioned girl and Bohemian who has the heart of a gypsy and the mind of a thinker. A few of my role models are my mother, Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, Flannery O’Connor, Hannah Arendt, Audrey Hepburn, Leonardo da Vinci, Denis Waitley, and Amelia Earhart. My two vices are coffee and books. I am particularly interested in philosophy, logic, psychiatry, psychology (and especially experimental psychology), physics (as in the theories of Richard Feynman, Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, David Bohm, John Polkinghorne, and other similar physicists), cognitive science, neurobiology, artificial intelligence, molecular and developmental science, the physiology of perception, social history, and creativity. I am an explorer who enjoys learning something new with every passing day. I am a private person who does not seek public acclaim, and I enjoy reading, writing, studying, and doing research for my blog articles more than anything else. I love Ancient Egyptian and Russian culture (including Russian literature), classical music, literature (especially classic  literature), art, ballet, opera, theatre, foreign/classic cinema, and I am infinitely inquisitive. My love of life is only surpassed by my love of knowledge. What do I seek more than anything else? Wisdom.

I am not a “light worker,” a “goddess,” a “healer,” or a trained psychiatrist. I am not interested in New Age philosophies, mysticism, parapsychology, or paranormal activity. I consider myself to be a life coach, but I have neither the desire nor the ability to “fix” anyone’s problems. My articles are for those who seek a life of true significance, rather than fame, celebrity status, or material success. I follow in the footsteps of the Greek Stoic philosophers, and most especially my hero, Epictetus, who shares my belief that happiness can only be found within ourselves. My personal code of ethics (from the standpoint of morality) is very similar to those of Immanuel Kant, who remains one of my favorite philosophers. I am skeptical (my belief in God came about through years of personal research in the realms of science and theology), scientific, and examine and analyze everything.

I dedicate my work to God, to my mother, and to my mentor and close friend, Denis Waitley, who continues to inspire me each and every day. I appreciate your coming to my blog, and I trust you will take the time to listen to the ideas I set forth with a mind that is willing to hear and consider views that may or may not be congruent with your own. I welcome and appreciate comments left at my blog, and I respond to all of them as well, even if I am not able to do so immediately.

Glad you discovered my blog because now I discovered yours 🙂

I like this part “both an old-fashioned girl and Bohemian who has the heart of a gypsy and the mind of a thinker.” I feel like I am in the same boat (except a guy :p).

It’s fascinating to see people who are interested in Russian culture and lit. I have a fellow philosophy friend who is into it too. My parents are from Romania, so I am very familiar with the Eastern European culture and so on.

    Anyways, Carpe Diem!

I cherish your honesty and total vulnerability (transparency).

If politicians could only have this kind of integrity, we certainly could better solve the enormous problems facing our society.

    You continue to amaze me.
